I am raring to go with lots of ideas on how to transform our backyard into a thriving forest garden. We are at the onset of winter now, so the cold may facilitate a little more planning than actual gardening action, but at least that way we will be able to come up with the best design that we can get going come next spring.
We are off again later this week to Nagano Prefecture, where we first got hooked on Permaculture during an introductory course at farm/school called Shantikuti. It has been a year since we graduated from our course, and we are heading back to present a video about all the stuff we have learned and done since, as well as about the sprouting up of 'Dream Seed Farms' and our hopes for the future of our island (and maybe even an eco-village here!). The theme for the event is 'seed saving' as that is the watchword these days amongst permies here in Japan. This also fits well with our whole 'Dream Seed' imagery...
Anyway, please check out our site, as we slowly but surely grow. Please use the comments section to let us know how you are doing in your little corner of this world.
And, you are all welcome on Ajishima where you can come plant your own Dream Seed with us!
